Welcome to Essofawleycc.co.uk The English Cricket Team: The English cricket team represents England and Wales. It operates under the auspices of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The sport of cricket was invented in England, and England is a founding Test cricket and one-day international nation. The English team played in the first Test match in 1877 and also the first one-day international in 1971. Both of these were against Australia and were eld in Melbourne. Throughout the history of cricket, England has been one of the most dominant international teams. In the 1980’s Australia, the West Indies, India, Pakistan and South Africa began improving rapidly and left England out of the picture. However, since 2000, English cricket has developed again and the team is now ranked third (after Australia and India) in the ICC Test cricket ratings. England also recently regained the Ashes title from Australia. English Cricket Records: Below are the test and one-day international records for England: |
